Assessment
This hour-long consultation with you and your child will include an observation of current communication skills and a parent interview to discuss your child’s developmental history and your current concerns. This may be helpful if your child:
- Does not have an established form of communication
- Has limited language
- Has speech that is difficult to understand
- Has a limited food repertoire or feeding difficulty
If needed for diagnostic or insurance purposes, a standardized assessment will be used to determine your child’s existing skills and areas for improvement.
Following the assessment, a detailed treatment plan will be provided that outlines long-term and short-term goals specific to your child and his or her current needs.

- Voice-output communication devices
- Communication apps on an iPad
- Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)
